Here's a little insight on what you might've missed when this news was released back in the first half of 2014:
-This "smuggling" incident happened back in 2010 during their 1st album promotion.
-This news broke out in the midst of gov't touching the fund of sewol ferry+when gov't couldn't give a proper statement to the public as to why the tragedy was led to hundreds of people dying.
-Yes Park Bom did "smuggle" her prescribed pills. The doctor's note was made public when this news broke out.
Look, whether she used it for her addiction problem, or she used it because she is prescribed it is none of our business. I take adderall even though I'm not prescribed during finals week. I "smuggle" junk food to the movie theater because let's be honest... I'm not about to spend $15 on a movie and pay additional $20 for a large popcorn and 2 medium sodas; I like to eat and watch. I've "smuggled" used hairspray in my carryon when I got on board the plane because I didn't feel the need to buy another one when I fly across the country. I can't ever think about being a celebrity in Korea because I've committed such horrible crime. EVERYONE HAS DONE SOMETHING ONCE IN THEIR LIFE. Is this severe? Is this enough to put her away from the media for this long? Any form of the word "drug" is gasp worthy in Korea. They treat POT like cocaine and they treat cocaine as a death sentence. Park Bom just got unlucky to me this isn't news this is invading someone's privacy. You can argue that she is a public figure blah blah blah but hey you need to realize SHIT happens sometimes.
Another thing about Korean netizens.. I don't think you can neccesarily blame them for saying all these harsh things about someone. Blame the education system in Korea for making them this way. Basically the education system in Korea can be looked at it as world war 4. The amount of stress that these kids go through... where else would they vent their frustration? If you see a hate comment... best believe 99.9% he/she is seeking for attention and constantly waiting for their phone to go off saying that one of you replied back to him/her. The moment you fight back the moment half the battle was lost and handed to the hater. Now if the person was actually giving a constructive criticism then by all means join in on the conversation.
